Technical stuff

Our AGM agreed a new playing format for the winter season 2025-26. This will be flexible format comprising 6 singles games. Teams may present with between 3 and 6 players on match night. A match will consist of six individual singles games. Each game will score one point to the winning player/team. Make the draw in the normal way then repeat the players required to make up the six games using the sequence described below. This order ensures that no player has, or is against, the break twice:

If you have three players - 1,2,3 (1,2,3). All three players play twice.

If you have four players - 1,2,3,4 (2,1). Players 1 and 2 play twice.

If you have five players - 1,2,3,4,5 (1). Player 1 plays twice.

All draws to be made before play starts.

Players who play twice in a match will receive one score which will be an average of the scores of their two games. This score will count for team and personal aggregates including the John Pickett, Enid Wain and Combe Cup trophies.

Home breaks are 1, 3 and 5 and away breaks are 2, 4 and 6.

Most wins will be based on the first game played only. High away break is based on all games.

Normal W&DBBA playing rules apply.

Please complete the result card and post an image of it on the 'Witney BB Results (only)' WhatsApp group immediately after the match
